If you have the opportunity to move to Poway, CA, do it. Though Poway has approximately 50,000 residents, and is just 23 miles from Downtown San Diego, it has the look and feel of a small country town. Indeed, Poway is known as “The City in the Country”. Located at the center of San Diego County and in the foothills of the Laguna Mountains just before going up the grade to Ramona, Poway has over half of its 39.4 square miles preserved as dedicated open space including 9 Poway parks & Lake Poway and over 82 miles of trails for Hiking, Biking and Horseback Riding).
Poway is primarily noted for excellent schools in the Poway School Districtand and its equestrian amenities such as the Poway Equestrian Area & Horse Stables. It also has one of the lowest crime rates in the country for a city of its size .
The Poway real estate market is diverse, to say the least. You can buy a little 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath Poway home in the $300,000 range. Or you can pay literally millions – right now the most expensive home in Poway can be had for just $14,995,000? I’m pretty sure they’re somewhat negotiable… I hear they’ll let it go for an even 14 mil. If this seems excessive to you, you should keep in mind that this home is 15,844 square feet or just $946/sf. Ouch.
All joking aside, Poway homes may be a bit on the pricey side, but as I said before the Poway lifestyle is worth it. Go ahead, enjoy surfing the different offerings in my website. There is no limit to the amount of time or the amount of homes you look up. You will never be forced to register. However, if you find something you would like to see, please don’t hesitate to call or Email me.
